Necessity is the mother of invention this proverb is appropriately applicable to Manikpur Anchalik College. Manikpur Anchalik College is the only premier higher educational institute of Manikpur Subdivision in Bongaigaon district. Before the establishment of the college, lots of meritorious students of this region could not afford to go outside for higher education due to their poor economic background. Thus, since its inception, the college has been successfully fulfilling the want of higher education in the region. The college was established on 2nd August, 1993 in its old campus at Gabinda Bhaban Gita Satra, Manikpur. Hence, we are always obliged for the authority of Gabinda Bhaban Gita Satra for providing us the scope of starting our college at their campus. I would like to give my obligation on behalf of our college to the pioneers of Manikpur Anchalik College on whose endeavourers, the college has been established. In this respect, I would like to thank Hon'ble Madan Mohan Pathak, the founder secretary of Manikpur Anchalik College. We must be always thankful to Sri Gadadhar Kalita under whose dynamic leadership, the college has been flourished. We are also thankful to Late Ashiwini Kr. Talukdar for taking the charge of Principal at its initial stage. Again, we must be thankful to two respected persons of North Abhayapuri Legislative Assembly Constituency, Sri Bhupen Roy (Ex-MLA, North Abhayapuri LAC) and Abdul Hai Nagori (Ex-MLA, North Abhayapuri LAC). Last but not the least, we will be always obliged to the people of entire Manikpur region as the college could not be established and stood in its present shape without their leadership, co-operation, support and donation.

Manikpur Anchalik College has been Provincialised by the Govt. of Assam on 1st January, 2013. The college has also been recognised in the list of colleges under section 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC act 1956. At present, the college has more than three thousand students who are pursuing H.S. (Arts), Self-financing Courses and B.A. (General and Major Courses). The college has at present only Arts stream. Along with the existing stream, the Governing Body of the college proposes to introduce Science Stream in near future for the better interest of the students of the locality as per the direction of Govt. of Assam. With forty efficient teaching staff and fifteen no teaching staff, the college is running on smoothly and fruitfully towards its desired goal. The basic objective of our college is to impart knowledge in a broader perspective and to improve socio-economic condition of the greater region. Besides the courses of the curriculum, various co-curricular activities and voluntary services has also been taken by the various units of the college like IQAC, NSS Unit, MACTU & MACSU to develop the socio-economic condition of the region. We are also thinking of introducing short term vocational courses in near future to prepare the youths of this region through skill development. Thus, I would like to conclude my message by wishing the bright future of the college- LONG LIVE MANIKPUR ANCHALIK COLLEGE
